TF2 is a great looking, fun-to-play online game, but it has some balancing issues, and the maps aren't very innovative.
It's definitely worth getting into, but it certainly doesn't have the longevity that HALO 3 has. Still, you can't beat the value of the Orange Box.

It's undoubtedly the BEST VALUE game purchase since Oblivion. You're getting more than your $60 worth out of it.

If you own an Xbox360, or a PC that can handle PORTAL, GO GET IT!
The game is short, but it's a BLAST!

This list could be pretty accurate.
Nobody has confirmed that Assassin's Creed will not be out in November yet, and I'm sure your not a reliable industry source.
I have to think that Mass Effect will be an amazing game through 2008, not just November, and anyone who played the COD4 beta knows that the game is a beast.
Haze looks like it has potential, but enough hasn't been shown of it yet to make me think it will be better than Assassin's Creed or COD4.

With Microsoft's deep pockets and the well established XBL marketplace, digital distribution is second nature for the Xbox 360. Anyone who owns a PS3 and a 360 knows that the Xbox360 has a leg up on the PS3 when it comes to downloadable content.
The PS3 still doesn't have Shivering Isles for Oblivion, and that content has been out for the 360 for a long time now.

EDIT: The guy/gal who disagreed must not own a PS3 and Xbox360 :-/

The new PS3 exclusive from Rockstar is not part of the GTA series.

Rockstar (nor any other big developer) would commit themselves to selling a AAA (or big Money) title exclusively on the worst selling console on the market right now.

Until the PS3 gets some better games and proves that it is going to pick up the pace in hardware sales, I don't expect to hear of many big companies signing exclusive deals for the PS3 outside of the first party studios that are owne...

OF COURSE a price cut will help sales, otherwise they wouldn't do it.
The price cut will not, however, cause PS3 consoles to fly off shelves at a pace that comes near the Xbox360 or the Wii...

Most people are not committing to a hi def movie format yet because of the "format war".

And there just aren't enough compelling exclusive games that are worth playing on the PS3 that will draw consumers in.

A price cut + some "must have...

"Nerd" says the man who posts comments on a web-site dedicated to video gaming news...
Being a "nerd" is one thing...
Being in denial is much worse.

I do agree that his dedication to LEGOs and Halo is a bit more than I'll ever understand.
No matter how much recognition and small sum of money he may receive from Bungie and the Halo community, I don't think it will every make up for the amount of time and money he has dumped into the proje...

Let's not get ahead of ourselves...
Yes, Blu Ray is in a better position to eventually be the definitive hi def disc format, but putting a hard date on the "END" of the "WAR" is just silly and ignorant.

Will Blu Ray have more players and movies sold by then? Yes.
WIll people stop buying HD-DVD by then? No.

As long as HD DVDs are being produced by big studios, and people are buying them, the format war wages on.

"When SONY make the big bang announcement, this will be in another way"

I'm not sure I understand, but I think you may have been trying to say that these numbers will change once SONY makes their "Big Bang" announcement...

Unfortunately, if that is what you meant, I have to disagree...

Unless SONY is going to announce that the PS3 will have dozens of killer games coming out VERY VERY soon, I don't think any single announcement w...

I have yet to see anyone reproduce these results.
There are a few Youtube videos of people trying this hack and finding 4 large batteries inside, and not 32 AA batteries.
ATTACK OF THE SHOW also tried this hack and found 4 large irregular sized batteries inside.

IN the last demo. People were crucifying the game for having some noticeable bugs when the live demo was shown.
"The floating man" and a few screen tearing and artifacting issues aside, I thought the game always looked fantastic.
I was never big into the Prince of Persia series because it was a bit too scripted, but this game sounds like it will allow much more freedom, which is really one of the biggest componenets to next gen gaming

I dealt with the "DUKE" when it arrived, but I was delighted when the Controller "S" was released.
The relocation of the "black" and "white" buttons was enough to make you want to upgrade.
Even if the overall size hadn't been adjusted, the button placement was a much needed revision.
IMHO, the controller-S was the most confortable and functional last-gen controller.
Now my vote has to go to the Xbox360 controller.

If these employees were given copies of Halo 3 because they were employees, I don't see how they deserved to be banned.

If they WEREN'T given a copy of the game early and allowed to play it, I have to think that there is probably some contractual agreement that every employee signs (as many of us in the IT industry can attest to) that forbids you from removing intellectual property of your employer without permission. Violations of these contracts is usually met with unemploym...

How screwed up is this?!

I'm not a fan of propaganda of any kind. It sucks when people have to take something (video games) that was created and evolved to provide people with entertainment, and twist it and pollute the market.

I don't know if these "fanboy" groups are just some extension of corporate influence that are trying to sway public opinion to boost their own sales or damage sales of their competitors, but it creates for a very messy environme...

Microsoft won't have to pay anybody off because even the people who don't like the game are commenting on it and keeping track of it on the gaming sites.

I generally ignore the news stories that involve games that I know I won't like, or don't care about.

The fact that everyone is taking the time to post their Halo hate speaks volumes about its commercial appeal.

If the Halo 3 "reality" footage was crap, the spoof would have been pretty funny, but in general, it didn't really make a strong point by comparing graphics.

God forbid we do a side by side of the original E3 Killzone 2 trailer and the actual Killzone 2 footage.

I agree that the game is short, and that the cinematic presentation and graphics are more revolutionary than any of the gameplay elements, but, it does what it set out to do, and it does it well.
This game wasn't designed to innovate on the genre. It's a fun hack & slash game that features stunning in-game visuals and has a great set of cinematic sequences to propel the story along.
It's not as deep as many action/adventure games or RPGs, but you can't compare an Action/Fig...

But, the guy does have a pretty good history of market analysis, so I can't be too mad that the story is considered "newsworthy". Bu I am a bit tired of all of these opinion stories coming out as if it was straight from the mouth of god.

The customization in Forza is AWESOME... and... it sucks...
hear me out.
In Forza 2, if you're just not as capable of tuning a car and you go to play online, you will get smoked.
Even if you just want to hop on and race in a car that you souped up in your career mode, chances are someone online will clean the track with your a55 because they've taken lots of time to tweak their specific car for that track.

In PGR, having the...
